At Uncle John's Place

when i am here,

i am who i want to be.

there's a fire in my veins,

that consumes all of me.

i gaze through the window,

and it brings me outside.

the sun beats down,

as the rays are my guide.

my inspiration grows,

while the waterfall dances.

tree branches swish side to side,

above the butterfly prances.

theres an angelic sound,

as the birds sing in harmony.

for all across the sky,

i hear their sweet melody.

the crisp, warm smell,

tickles my nose.

as the summer sky wind,

so gently blows.

this nature is so inspiring,

in God's beautiful showcase.

i can always clear my mind,

at Uncle John's Place.

Sept. 19th-Anniversary

Today was Dave's and my Anniversary. It was a wonderful day!! Dave came over this morning and we went to breakfast at a little old coffee shop called Howard's that we go to often. Then Dave took me horseback riding on a trail and it was sooooooooo fun! Last time I rode I was like 6 years old! My horse, Skip, had gas. Dave's horse, Benny, was hungry. He kept grabbing bushes as we trotted by them, every chance he got! It was actually quite hilarious. Then we baked some pizza and watched tv until it was time to get ready for dinner. He surprised me and took me the Anaheim White House. It was a home to a family, built in 1909 that is famous and now a restaurant. The food was wonderful, and the service was great! We had steak and ham/cheese stuffed chicken, with amazing veggies and Gnocchi (potato dumplings). Then for dessert a tower of solid sugar! well, Caramel and sugar.. along with chocolate covered strawberries, mini tarts, cream puffs etc. a sample platter, if you will...it was all soooo wonderful! They even gave us a glass of Cider on the House, for our Anniversary. It was a little pricy, but definitely worth it! Today was our best Anniversary yet and I can't wait to spend another year with him. They're going by so fast! I can't believe how fast it came and went! It was and amazing day, and I owe it all to David..

Firefly

So.. I decided to start a blog.. This first entry is about why I want to become a Firefly.. I learned this from Patsy Clairmont over the weekend at the Women of Faith Conference (amazing/lifting/encouraging experience by the way).. It's a concept that parallels being a light in this world of darkness.. like Jesus is the Light and I am called to be in the Light. You know, This little Light of mine, I'm gonna let it Shine?? Yea, same thing. So I want to become a firefly and be a light to the world.. Patsy also encouraged us to have friend fireflies. It's important to have friends with the same desires so we can grow together and build up one another. There was a period in my life when I didn't quite grasp this concept.. but the deeper I've gotten into The Word the more I have understood the importance of the fellowship and why I need to study and learn with friends.. girl friend preferably who can relate to my situations and that I can confide in..I long to be a Firefly so the world can see Christ's light in me.. I want to shine like a bright star.. it's funny how a night lit up by fireflies looks similar to a sky full of stars..
